Another Lifetime
I don’t know how else to explain, my heart
actually hurts, it beats one memory over my head
and then the next… a rapid pace, this place,
that place, friends then foes, faces, hands, happiness, woes.
What blares in my mind, impossible to tell, like spiders between
stair-boards or sand between toes…
A trip to Kansas City, several actually, an election, an education,
countless apartments! Jumbled together like this
it may not make sense but, to me, each word
has taken lifetime to write, let alone erase…
