Coming As We Were

Soaked in bleach for a trend, acid burning holes through jeans we flaunted faded tie-dye tees, once more vibrant and distinct. Insides burned like exploding suns, boys’ haircuts on nine year old girls! Curls chopped to our ears. It stings our eyes to hide those now forgotten shades of brown.  Some memories fade faster than scars from canning on our old dining room table. Yet more memories linger blurry, proving too forgettable to remember completely…
