Poetry Shorts

Words on her face she can’t erase (fading lies) smoothed over time.

Take a second look in every single book you’ve ever read.

What’s below the horizon?
Why does it go on forever?

Stretched out–gripping rainbows
it is unable of letting go?

Never reaching for silver linings,
always last to find the pot of gold?

Kiss me quick before she looks! Alone is a luxury we can never afford.
We are meant to be easy friends in front of the lens…

Complicating, killing significant exclamations.
Remember the last time? Keep the keys close to your chest.

Kick white doors wide open: secrets rest on cracked floors, wait for the day we find it finally feels right to return to the scene of our crime.
